PANCHKULA: The Panchkula administration held a meeting with the officials of the education department on Sunday.
The meeting was regarding the Haryana Board examinations which will be starting from March 3. The focus of the administration is to make the examinations cheating-free.
As per the officials, they informed that the superintendent of the Haryana board, Panchkula, held meeting with the officials of the
Panchkula education board.
He told the officials that the board was strict over cheating-related cases and no one would be spared under the law.
Suggestions of examiners were discussed and were presented before the deputy commissioner (DC). The DC agreed on a few terms and allowed them to provide examination paper in government vehicle only.
Apart from this, the
Panchkula district administration has imposed Section 144 of the CrPc within 200 metre of all the centres for the Haryana board examinations. Section 144 of the CrPC empowers a magistrate to prohibit an assembly of more than four people in an area.
Deputy commissioner (DC) M K Ahuja said the Haryana board exams would start from March 3 and would continue till March 31.
"To avoid any mishap and cheating incidents, Section 144 has been imposed near all the centres in the district," he said.
He said to control the law and order situation, the police would also been deployed.
"People with wooden sticks, sword, axe, knife, among other weapons are banned in and around the exam centres," he said.
While providing details, the DC said there were a total of 28 centres in the district, including 20 in Panchkula and eight in Kalka subdivision.
Besides this, order to ban photostat machines in and around the examination centres during exam timings has also been imposed. Special officers from the education department along with the officials of the administration will conduct checking around the centres and anyone found flouting norms will be booked under Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the IPC.
