MUMBAI:
Rashmi Thackeray, considered to be one of the driving forces behind husband Uddhav and son Aaditya’s plunge in active politics, seems to have now assumed a more direct role in
Shiv Sena’s affairs.
On Sunday, her name appeared in the print line of party mouthpiece Saamna as its editor. Sena MP
Sanjay Raut will continue as the daily’s executive
editor and see to its day-to-day operations, a party member said. Rashmi replaces Uddhav, who stepped down as the editor and his name was dropped from its print line on November 28, 2019 the day he took oath as
Maharashtra’s chief minister. This was done to avoid the ‘office of profit’ issue.
