-- Northwood University presented seven Dealer Education Awards during the NADA Show in Las Vegas last month.
Since 1972, Northwood, in Midland, Mich., has recognized dealers for contributions to education and communities.
The honorees are:
- Dennis Ellmer of Priority Automotive in Chesapeake, Va.
- Robert Fogarty Jr. of Sport Automotive in Silver Spring, Md.
- Larry Morgan of Morgan Auto Group in Tampa, Fla.
- Thomas Szott of Szott Auto Group in White Lake, Mich.
- David Waikem of Waikem Auto Family in Massillon, Ohio
- Aaron Wallace of Schomp Automotive Group in Highlands Ranch, Colo.
- Jeffrey Williams of Williams AutoWorld in Lansing, Mich.
-- Ford Motor Co. honored six retailers from around the world for exceptional community service as part of its 20th annual Salute to Dealers awards at the NADA Show in Las Vegas last month.
U.S. Ford and Lincoln dealers said in a survey that they donate more than $50,000 a year, while 35 percent commit to giving between 10 and 20 hours of charitable service each month, according to Ford.
The honorees are:
- Gail Miller of Larry H. Miller Dealerships in Sandy, Utah
- Jim Koons of Koons Ford in Falls Church, Va.
- Gregory Daunhauer of Byerly Ford in Louisville, Ky.
- Pham Ngoc Than of Ben Thanh Ford in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
- Jose Abraao Vinhal of Ford Caminho in Sao Paulo, Brazil
- Andre Quakernack of FordStore Autohaus Hagemeier GmbH in Versmold, Germany
