Delhi's Patiala House Court has cleared the way for the hanging of Nirbhaya convicts. The court, while hearing the plea of convict Pawan and Akshay on Monday, lambasted their lawyer and refused to stop the hanging of the four convicts on March 3 at six in the morning.

Explain that out of the four convicts, Pawan Gupta is the one who has the option of mercy petition. It is learned that he has sent his mercy petition to the President on Monday. Now if the President rejects Pawan's mercy petition, according to the rule, even after the mercy petition is rejected, the convict who is sentenced to death gets 14 days.
Since the Patiala House Court, knowing all the rules and knowing that Pawan's mercy petition is pending with the President, still refused to stay the execution. In such a situation, it will now completely dependent on the decision of the court whether or not it will give the 14 days time given to Pawan after the mercy petition is rejected.
Now if the court gives time, then the hanging will be postponed again for 14 days and if not, then the four convicts will be hanged tomorrow itself. At the same time, the guilty Akshay has again sent the mercy petition to the President.
