Share market update: Nifty commodities index up; JSPL jumps 5%

The Nifty Commodities index was trading 1.77 per cent up at 3068.8 .

NEW DELHI: Nifty commodities index was trading in the green in Monday's session.

Shares of Jindal Steel & Power (up 5.04 per cent), JSW Steel (up 3.92 per cent), NHPC (up 3.64 per cent), Coal India (up 3.33 per cent), UPL Ltd (up 3.0 per cent), Shree Cement (up 3.0 per cent), Steel Authority of India (up 2.95 per cent), HPCL (up 2.61 per cent), Ambuja Cements (up 2.58 per cent), Pidilite Industries (up 2.24 per cent), NTPC (up 2.06 per cent), ACC (up 2.01 per cent), Indian Oil Corporation (up 1.89 per cent), UltraTech Cement (up 1.88 per cent), Vedanta (up 1.75 per cent), NMDC Ltd (up 1.75 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation (up 1.58 per cent), Hindustan Zinc (up 1.48 per cent), Reliance Industries (up 1.4 per cent) and Aarti Industries (up 1.36 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Commodities index was trading 1.77 per cent up at 3068.8 around 02:07 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 211.15 points at 11,412.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 742.02 points at 39039.31.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 46 were trading in the green, while 4 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, YES Bank, SBI, Bank of Baroda, Ashok Leyland, GMR Infra, Vedanta and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
