From the big screen to the big stream: 3 shows based on movies to watch tonight

Sometimes movies are so good the story has to continue and what better way than a television series.

Some iconic movies have been turned into shows, some of them good, and others not so good.

Here are three shows to watch tonight.

Four Weddings and a Funeral - Showmax

The 1994 romantic comedy star Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell have been turned into a series created by Mindy Kaling. The 10-episode miniseries follows four American college friends who reunite at a wedding in London. But a bombshell at the altar throws them all into turmoil.

Dear White People – Netflix

Based on the 2014 movie of the same name, the film's writer and director, Justin Simien, returned to write and direct episodes of the series. The satirical series - which picks up where the film left off – follows a group of Winchester University's students of colour as they navigate a diverse landscape of social injustice, cultural bias, political correctness (or lack thereof) and sometimes misguided activism in the millennial age. Jack Ryan – Amazon

Based on the books by Tom Clancy, there were five movies starring Alex Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine as the titular character Jack Ryan. In the series, John Krasinski plays the CIA analyst who has to leave the security of his desk job and go into the field. (Read our review here)
