CHANDIGARH: Three persons including a husband and wife were booked allegedly for using forged documents to get flats under Chandigarh Small Flat Scheme, 2006. On the complaint of naib tehsildar, estate office, the Sector 3 police have registered a case under various sections against the three. No arrest has been made in the case so far.
The police said the accused have been identified as Ram Niwal of Lal Bahudur Shastri Colony, Sector 56, and Samer Bahadur and his wife Baby Devi of the same colony.
In his complaint, Suresh Kumar, naib tehsildar, estate office, has said that the three accused had submitted forged and wrong affidavit documents to obtain the possession of flats under the small flat schemes in 2016 to the estate office.
Later, when officials of the estate office verified the documents, they found the accused used documents of other persons to get possession of flats.
During the verification of flat owners and their bio metrics samples, it was found that the husband-wife had submitted wrong affidavits and used other's names too. Inquiry report of the officials of the estate office revealed that both accused had shifted to Mumbai a long time back from the city.
