BUTA: Reveal status of service books

Vadodara: The Baroda University Teachers Association (BUTA) on Wednesday met university registrar to resolve long pending issues faced by the teaching fraternity.
BUTA office-bearers said that the teachers who have retired, while some have even passed away, are not going to receive their pensions immediately as the verification of service books is going on at a very tardy pace. The service books of teachers presently in service are also under verification process at government offices, which is further delaying the process, they alleged.
“We have demanded a white paper with faculty-wise status of the service books of teachers so that an atmosphere of trust is created at the campus. It will reveal the status of all the service books of teachers of our university,” said BUTA general secretary Dr Nikul Patel.
The teachers association has also demanded that all queries raised by the state government in connection to the service books must be expedited and resolved by deputy registrar of ADE section. “As teachers association, we should be updates at all levels so that we too can support the verification process,” Patel added.
BUTA has also demanded that government officers too should be called at the university campus for verification of service books to expedite the process. The association will share minutes of Wednesday’s meeting will all the teachers on Thursday.
