UP: Youths wave black flag, detained in Prayagraj

Public thrashes youths found waving black flags during the rally in Prayagraj on Saturday
PRAYAGRAJ: Four youths said to be associated with the students’ wing of Samajwadi Party waved black flags while Prime Minister Narendra Modi was addressing the gathering at the venue and were detained by police.
The detained youths, identified as Saurabh, Deepak, Mohit and Jai Shankar, were thrashed by people.
In the middle of PM’s speech, the four youths sitting behind media gallery at the venue, suddenly stood up and started waving black flags. Almost immediately, the people sitting alongside caught hold of them and started thrashing them. By the time police jumped over the barricading and stopped the public, the four youths had been badly thrashed.
SP district spokesperson, Dan Bahadur Madhur said, “The party stands with these protesting youths as our party is with every youth who is fighting for his rights.”
SSP Prayagraj Satyarth Aniruddha Pankaj said, “An FIR is being registered against the four youths under relevant sections of the IPC and the Criminal Law Amendment Act for causing disturbance, obstructing government work. They would be sent to jail after due process.”
