PUNE: The Kondhwa police on Friday booked two developers on the charges of causing the death of a construction worker due to negligence, days after he fell from the first floor of a building coming up at Bhagyodayanagar on February 13.
The police said Sohail Ahmed Siddique (35) Siddique died due to multiple head injuries around 12.30pm the same day. The police had registered a complaint of accidental death.
“Investigations revealed that the building at lane number 24 was illegal, as the developers had not obtained permission from the civic body that had issued a stop-work notice. But the developers went ahead with the work,” an officer said
“The probe also revealed that Siddique died in the absence of safety measures at the site. The FIR was lodged under section 304 (a) of the Indian Penal Code,” the officer said.
