HYDERABAD: A two-year-old boy died after a school bus ran over him in
Ghatkesar on Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred when the toddler was playing outside his house. The bus belonged to the school that the victim’s brother was studying in.
Ghatkesar police said that four-year-old Manoj Kumar had gone to school in the same bus at around 8am on Saturday. At around 12.30 pm, the school bus had arrived at victim’s house to drop Manoj. At the time, Manoj’s younger brother, Mahesh, was playing outside the house. After Manoj stepped out of the vehicle, the bus driver, who failed to notice the boy standing in front of the bus, drove ahead and ended up hitting Mahesh.
The toddler died on the spot. The family members registered a complaint with Ghatkesar police seeking action against the driver of the school bus, Syed Ali. A case was registered under Section 304 A ( causing death by negligence) of Indian Penal Code.
The victim’s parents who hail from Warangal, migrated to Hyderabad four years ago. Mahesh’s father is a mason.
