Two foreigners held for overstaying in Pune

PUNE: Two Ugandan nationals were arrested on Friday for overstaying in the city without valid documents.
The Airport police identified the women as Nakijoba Euie (28) and Nadagire Yudaya Tasha (24). The duo were arrested following a special drive to identify those overstaying after the expiry of their visas.
“We had received a tip-off about three Ugandan nationals, a man and two women, overstaying without valid travel documents in a house in Kalwad Vasthi of Lohegaon. While the man had valid documents, the women failed furnish them,” assistant inspector Hanmant Giri of the Airport police said.
“The duo were arrested under the relevant sections of the Foreigners Act, 1946. Probe revealed that business visas of Euie and Tasha had expired in 2016 and 2018, respectively,” he added.
