SALIGAO: Calangute police on Saturday arrested Mukesh Chaurasiya, 21, of Daman and Laxmi Prasad Jaiswal of Uttar Pradesh, for their involvement in a prostitution racket.
Three women who were rescued by the police were produced before the Mapusa sub-divisional magistrate and lodged in the state protective home.
Chaurasiya and Jaiswal were booked under provisions of the Indian Penal Code and Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. They were then produced before the Mapusa JMFC and were remanded in 3 days police custody.
