MP adopts Chitrod as a ‘Model Village’

Under a Model Village (Adarsh Gram) scheme floated by Prime MinisterNarendra Modi , Member of Parliament of Ahmedabad West Dr Kirit Solanki has adopted Chitrod village of Rapar taluka in Kutch district . An event of Gram Sabha under the Model Village scheme was organised in presence of the city MP on Saturday. The locals welcomed and felicitated Dr Solanki for adopting the village under the scheme. The village holds religious importance as it is also known as the Karma Bhumi of Saint Trikamdas, who also is the religious guru of Dr Solanki.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Solanki said, "We will make Chitrod a model village as per the dream envisaged by the Prime Minister under the Adarsh Gram scheme."
Dr Solanki assured that no work will be remain incomplete due to paucity of funds. He has asked the villages to form a committee whose members will carry out the developmental work. Dr Solanki first offered prayers at the temple of Saint Trikamdas and then proceeded for the event. The village has a population of 4,000 people.
The villagers along with Kutch MPVinod Chavda and government officials were present at the function.

The MP will also ensure that all government schemes for infrastructure development, roads, cleanliness, potable water, zero drop out ratio and 100 per cent admission in the schools will be implemented in the village. The MP has chosen the village as there is not a single village panchayat in his constituency.
