The National Institute of Technology, Warangal, will launch MTech in Waste management with 20 seats at the institute. The announcement was made by institute director NV Ramana Rao on Friday.
WARANGAL: The National Institute of Technology, Warangal, will launch MTech in Waste management with 20 seats at the institute. The announcement was made by institute director NV Ramana Rao on Friday.
He was speaking at a two-day industry-academia meet on waste management and social entrepreneurship called for by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
"Waste management practices are the need of the hour. The job opportunities in this sector are huge," said chief guest S Sairam, General Manager (Environment and Pollution Control) Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad, while inaugurating the proceedings.
The exhibitors and participants include experts from waste management technology, equipment manufacturers and suppliers, regulatory bodies, Pollution Control Board, utilities, NGOs, recyclers, private corporates, industrial associations and allied organisations.
K V Jayakumar of the institute's civil engineering department spoke about the finalizing MBA programme in Waste Management and Social Entrepreneurship at Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, Hyderabad.
More than 20 stalls were put up showcasing models for waste management. The event was organised in association with Telangana Pollution Control Board in corrdination with the Warangal regional office. The environmental engineer, scientific officer and media coordinator of TSPCB actively took part in the seminar and exhibition.
