Pune: PCMC panel approves works worth Rs 538 crore

PIMPRI CHINCHWAD: Laser show, construction of modern post-mortem centre and doctors' quarters at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial hospital, and road concreting are some of the major works that were approved at the PCMC standing committee meeting on Fiday night.
This was the last meeting of Vilas Madigeri as the chairman of the committee. A total of 162 resolutions worth Rs 538.99 crore were approved at the meeting, Madigeri said.
He said statues of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Sarsenapati Hambirrao Mohite would be erected in Moshi at Rs 12.47 crore. "Works necessary for laser show will be implemented at Bird Valley in Sambhajinagar at Rs 10.69 crore," Madigeri said, adding that around Rs 20 crore would be spent to modernise the YCM hospital.
"Lanes in Thergaon gaothan will be concreted at Rs 12.25 crore, while roads in other parts of Thergaon will be concreted at Rs 8.07 crore, among others," Madigeri said, adding that an 18-metre-wide DP road would be developed in Dudulgaon.
