Goa: HC pulls up police for laid-back approach to investigation

High court of Bombay at Goa
PANAJI: In a hard hitting order, the high court of Bombay at Goa observed that police have not exhibited seriousness in investigating the suicide case of former Merces panch Prakash Naik as accused Wilson Godhino is “brother of local minister” and remarked about “clout wielded” by him over the investigation agency.
The court noted that the investigating agency would be better equipped to unearth the crime only when Wilson is in police custody and rejected his anticipatory bail application.
