Mysuru cops detain two Bangladeshi illegal migrants

MYSURU: Two Bangladeshi illegal migrants working in a Mysuru factory for nearly a year have been detained by Nanjangud police on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, Nanjangud rural police reached their dwelling in Himmavu village, Nanjangud taluk of Mysuru district late on Friday and enquired about their background. Initially, the duo claimed they were residents of Bengaluru and said they have been working in a fabrication factory since a year.
After police grew suspicious about them, they intensely subjected them to questioning only to uncover that they were from Bangladesh. Mohammed Abdullah and Mohammed Habibullah (23) have admitted that they are residents of Satkhira District Bangladesh. Cops have detained them after they disclosed their identity as they didn't possessed any valid documents to stay in India.

Nanjangud subdivision DSP Prabhakar Rao Sindhe confirmed TOI that the duo detained by the cops was from Bangladesh. "They have been working in Nankangud from last eight months. We have summoned factory owner to get more information about the duo," he added.
"It is not yet clear when and how the duo entered India and reached Mysuru. We are verifying their antecedents and checking their activities and connections here and in Bangladesh, the DSP explained," he said.
The duo has been booked under provisions of Passport Act and Indian Foreigners Act. Nanjangud police are likely to take them into police custody for further questioning after producing them before a local court later in the day.
