Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal spoke at India Ideas Conclave, Gujarat on February 29. Namgyal said that there was a sense of insecurity among people of Ladakh before abrogation of Article 370. He said, “On one side of Ladakh was radical Islam and on another communist China both ‘close friends’ of India. In the midst of that Article 370 wasn't allowing us to join mainstream, there was a sense of insecurity and discrimination. Only 2% of J&K's budget was allotted for development of Ladakh. ” He further added, “Now after the abrogation of Article 370 and formation of the new Union Territory, there are talks of Rs 6,000 crores for development. Now, the challenge before us is to show how honest the people of Ladakh are.”
