Tourism facilities, homestays are going vacant: Meghalaya Guv on CAA row

Feb 28, 2020, 05:09PM ISTSource: ANI

While speaking to ANI on Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests, the Governor of Meghalaya Tathagata Roy said, “A lot of tourism facilities and homestays are going vacant. I have spoken to tour operators, who said tourism has got a hit. CAA refers to conferring citizenship on people, who had come from another country before 2014. If you put restrictions on Indian citizens from other states from entering into Meghalaya and make it difficult for them to come then it is not very difficult to guess what the outcome is going to be.” “It is for the elected government to decide this,” he added.
