Everton linked with Rabiot

Everton have again been linked with a move for Adrian Rabiot.

CalcioMercato.it, cited by Sport Witness, claim Juventus are set to move him on this summer with a poor performance in the defeat to Lyon in the Champions League potentially the final nail in the coffin for his Juventus future.

They report the Serie A giants would want €30m for the Frenchman, but are willing to lower that value to facilitate a deal.

And it goes on to suggest both Everton and Arsenal ‘like him’, though speculates about how suited he actually would be to Premier League football.

Man City to offer Stones to Everton?

Keeping with Mason Holgate, the Mirror are reporting Man City’s interest in the Everton defender too.

One interesting line in their report suggests Pep Guardiola could offer John Stones back to his former club as part of any deal to bring Holgate to the Etihad Stadium.

Man City prioritise Holgate

Man City have reportedly placed Mason Holgate at the top of their summer transfer wish-list according to Football Insider.

Pep Guardiola is in the market for a new centre-back and they report City are keeping close tabs on the Everton defender and have already highlighted him as a firm target when the window re-opens.

Everton are keen to offer the defender new and improved contract as a reward for his form this season, but could City be about to throw a spanner in the works?

DCL criticism

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been one of Everton’s brightest stars this season.

Reports even claim he’s set to be rewarded with a new contract.

But that hasn’t stopped him coming in for some criticism after last weekend’s defeat to Arsenal.

It isn’t justified...

Ancelotti must sort Everton problem to realise European aims

Everton have serious designs on finishing inside the top six by the end of the Premier League season.

Their upsurge in form following the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti has put the Blues within touching distance of a Europa League place and that would be some achievement, considering where the club was after the opening few months of the season.

Of course, the highly-successful Italian boss will have aims to get his side competing in the upper echelons of world football in seasons to come too but to achieve that he will need to iron out a few issues at Goodison Park.

Among those problems for the manager is how to get his players to ruthlessly carry out his game plan for the full 90 minutes of any match.
