Nagpur: The loan agreement between Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the department of economic affairs (DEA) for
Nag river pollution abatement project will be signed in the third week of March. Execution of the project will start soon thereafter.
Recently, DEA director Avinash Kumar had held a meeting which was attended by officials of National River Conservation Directorate, Union environment department, JICA and Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC’s) Shweta Bannerjee and Mohammed Israel.
The cost of the project is Rs2,412.64 crore. The share of the Centre, state government and NMC is 60%, 25% and 15%, respectively.
