Avail benefits of insurance scheme: PMC

PUNE: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and United India Insurance Company Ltd (UIIC) have appealed to people to take benefit of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Accident Insurance Scheme which is for taxpayers residing in PMC limits.

“This insurance scheme for taxpayers was started in 2018. At that time, it only covered the taxpayers. But, now we have started covering the entire family of the taxpayer A lot of people are not aware of it,” said UIIC ltd Pune Region Deputy General Manager KVR Krishna. 

The scheme is being run for the benefits of taxpayers residing in PMC limits.  A benefit of Rs 5 lakh is given to the family of the deceased or hospitalisation benefit of Rs 1 lakh in case of an accident. It was also informed that around 6.47 lakh taxpayers have been covered by the scheme, while, as many as 54 claims have been received, 30 claims have been settled and others are being processed.
