Qatar Airways has opened its new Premium Lounge at Terminal 1 of Singapore Changi Airport, marking the airline’s fifth international Premium Lounge.
“We are thrilled to have launched our latest international Premium Lounge at Singapore Changi Airport. The lounge design is inspired by modern-day Arabic architecture, reflecting Qatar Airways’ heritage,” said Qatar Airways group chief executive Akbar Al Baker.
Qatar Airways has so far opened Premium Lounges in London, Paris, Beirut and Bangkok.
The Singapore Premium Lounge is located in the Departure Transit Hall, near Transfer C, on Level 3. Qatar Airways’ first class, business class passengers and select Privilege Club cardholders can enjoy complimentary access to the Premium Lounge.
The new lounge is approximately 700 sqm and can accommodate about 85 passengers. It’s open daily from 7:30am to 2:00am.
Passengers will see Qatar Airways’ signature “Marhaba” engraved stand-stone wall with a display of white orchids at the entrance of the lounge. The airline said a botanical patterned wall inspired by Singapore’s affinity to horticulture and greenery is also added for a local touch.
The lounge features seven different seating areas including the Principal Lounge, Quiet Pods, Garden Bistro, High Seating, Martini Bar, Brasserie and Private Lounge. The five Quiet Pods offer a semi-private space equipped with sound proofing, reading lights, a coat hanger and universal charging points.
The lounge also has a full kitchen for à la carte food orders on demand, on top of an existing buffet spread offering an “international” menu. A mixologist is also available at the centrepiece Martini Bar, offering mocktail and cocktail options.
Qatar Airways said it has included a number of features to add comfort for passengers such as sideboards placed next to the seats with a lamp, universal plug point, wireless charger and a compartment suitable for storing handbags and personal belongings.
The airline currently operates its Airbus A350-1000 aircraft on its Singapore route. With three daily flights between Singapore and Doha, the aircraft offers 327 seats across two cabins – 46 Q-suite business class seats and 281 18-inch seats in economy class.
