LUCKNOW:
Terrorism is no deterrent to the power of faith...people go for Amarnath Yatra irrespective of the threat of terror attacks, said chief minister
Yogi Adityanath on Thursday.
He was speaking at a ceremony to mark the renovation completion of Koneshwar Mahadev temple in Lucknow.
"During 'saavan', when lakhs of Shiva devotees come out chanting 'bam bam bhole', terrorism disappears," said Yogi about the Amarnath Yatra in Jammu & Kashmir.
The CM also spoke on religion being nothing else but duty for the interest of the country and society. "If the country remains safe and prosperous, we feel protected," he said.
Yogi said that good thinking makes a person great while bad causes downfall.
"While a person with positive thinking can get respect of others by doing public welfare, negative thinking becomes a reason for chaos in society," he said. "This analysis can be found in our religious texts as well," the CM said at the function also attended by MP governor Lalji Tandon and UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh. Koneshwar temple, Yogi said, finds a mention in the Puranas too.
"The temple also has a connection with Laxman and therefore its importance dates back to Treta Yug," he said, emphasising on its cleanliness.
"Cleanliness of this temple has been taken care of. There should be similar arrangements at other religious places, too," he said.
Arrangements have also been made for proper disposal and processing of material leftover over from ceremonies such as flowers.
