Stock market update: Auto shares down; Motherson Sumi dips 4%
The Nifty Auto index was trading 1.22 per cent down at 7,119.8.
NEW DELHI: Shares of auto companies were trading with losses in Thursday's session.
Shares of Motherson Sumi Systems (down 3.46 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 3.08 per cent), Tata Motors(DVR) (down 2.89 per cent), Ashok Leyland (down 2.76 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra (down 2.53 per cent) were among the top losers.
Bosch (down 2.12 per cent), TVS Motor Company (down 1.77 per cent), Tata Motors (down 1.49 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp (down 1.4 per cent) too were in the red.
While Exide Industries (up 0.18 per cent) and Eicher Motors (up 0.09 per cent) were among the top gainers.
The Nifty Auto index was trading 1.22 per cent down at 7,119.8 around 11:02 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 110.90 points at 11,567.6, while the BSE Sensex was 362.66 points at 39,526.3.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 6 were trading in the green, while 44 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, SBI, Indiabulls Housing, Ashok Leyland, JSPL, PNB, SAIL and GMR Infra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
