Wing Commander Abhinandan Current was captured by the Pakistani Army during the dogfight that took place after the Balakot airstrike on 27 February, exactly one year before today. However, due to India's efficient diplomacy and strong political will, Pakistan had returned the greeting in 60 hours while kneeling.
After the Pulwama terror attack, the Indian Air Force entered the Balakot in Pakistan and did an airstrike. After this, Pakistan sent its fighters across the Indian border with the intention of taking revenge. However, during this time the Pakistani Air Force was repulsed by Indian fighter jets.
Investigations have revealed that during this period, many messages of 'Go Cold ... Go Cold ...' i.e. 'Come back ... return' were sent to Wing Commander Abhinandan to return from the integrated command center located in Ambala... The Pakistani army not only heard these messages but also prevented them from reaching the reception.
Due to this, Wing Commander Abhinandan entered the Pakistani Air Force in pursuit of the F-16 aircraft of Pak Air Force. Where he succumbed to a plane crash and was caught by the Pakistani Army.
After the Balakot airstrike, the Air Force Deputy Chief sent a full report of the incident to the Central Government. This report explained the entire incident that took place at that time and also kept in mind that such an incident should not happen again in the future.
Preparing to buy modern radio sets from Israel
After the investigation of the incident is completed, the Ministry of Defense will purchase modern radio sets for the Indian Air Force from the Rafal Advanced Defense System of Israel. Their technology is modern, which Pakistan will not be able to decode or disrupt even if it wants to. It will later be replaced by sets made by DRDO.
What happened exactly one year ago
On 26 February, Pakistan attacked Indian strategic targets with 24 F-16 aircraft in response to an airstrike by the Indian Air Force on terror targets located in Balakot, Pakistan. Some of these planes unsuccessfully tried to target army bases located in Jammu and Kashmir.
During this time, the Indian Air Force sent two Sukhoi-30 MKIs and two Mirage-2000s patrolling in Pir Panjal while eight MiG-21 Bison aircraft from Srinagar and Avantipora airbases to respond to their avalanche. One of these aircraft was flying wing commander Abhinandan.
However, he entered Pakistani airspace due to the interruption of radio messages by Pakistan. During this time, before the crash, he shot down a Pakistani F-16.
