Jharkhand: Six test negative for coronavirus

RANCHI: The integrated disease surveillance program cell of the state health, medical education and family welfare department on Wednesday announced that samples of six passengers from Wuhan in China have tested negative for novel coronavirus.
In a statement, the department said the samples of six passengers (three each from Ranchi and Jamshedpur) tested negative in laboratory tests. "They have been kept under home isolation and being monitored," the statement read.
The department said out of 647 passengers from Wuhan who have been quarantined in New Delhi since February 2, four are residents of Jharkhand. "After being in isolation for 17 days, they are headed to their home states. The four (two from Bokaro and one each from Giridih and Madhupur have been advised to stay in home isolation for another 14 days," the statement read.
"As per line list of travelling passengers received from Union home ministry, it has been suggested to keep 77 passengers from Jharkhand under home isolation and constant monitoring," the statement read. Of the 77, 21 passengers are from Jamshedpur, 16 from Seraikela, eight each from Ranchi, Garhwa and Bokaro, five from Godda, two from Hazaribag, and one each from Palamu, Jamtara, Chatra, Deoghar and Latehar.
The department said 102 isolation beds have been set up in Rims and five other medical colleges of the state.
