CBSE postpones board exams scheduled on Feb 28, 29 in violence-hit northeast Delhi

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Thursday, February 27, announced that the exams scheduled for February 28 and February 29 in violence-hit North East Part and affected area of Delhi stand cancelled for class 10th and class 12th. This decision was taken as the law and order situation in Delhi's northeast deteriorated. Delhi government's Education Department requested for the rescheduling.
"However, the exams in rest of Delhi shall be conducted as schedule", the board said in a press statement.
The next date of exam for affected students will be notified shortly.
The CBSE Board also mentioned that all exams in all centres shall be held as scheduled from Monday, March 2, 2020, onwards.
The Board assured all students in northeast Delhi who failed to appear in the Class 10 and 12 board examination owing to riots, to not to worry. It said it would announce new dates for re-examination soon.
