Thiruvananthapuram corporation organises study tour for school students

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister for ports and archaeology Kadannappally Ramachandran flagged off the two day study tour being organised by city corporation for school students here on Thursday. The minister said that we live at a time when there is a growing need to understand the responsibilities of citizens and about Indian Constitution.
Town planning committee chairman Palayam Rajan, said that the students were chosen for the history study tour on the basis of a history quiz conducted in schools and winners were chosen to participate in tour. The students will visit various places of historical importance and interactions with V Karthikeyan Nair, director, state institute of languages, C Chandran Pillai, director, Kerala museum and Rejikumar director Archives have also been planned as part of the study tour.
Palayam Rajan said that the students will be given memento based on an article on study tour. Deputy mayor Rakhi Ravikumar distributed the study tour kits to students. The study tour is being organised as part of the project ` Mizhiyarivu 2020`.
