College student ends life fearing failure in exam

Surat: A 20-year-old BSc student hanged himself to death at his home in Dindoli on Tuesday night. Police said that the deceased Vivek Mishra ended life fearing poor performance during the ongoing exams.
Mishra, a resident of Patel Nagar in Dindoli, was a student of second semester at P P Savani University at Kosamba. On Tuesday evening, he went to his room. When his mother went to give him tea and snacks at around 11.30 pm, she found him hanging to the ceiling fan.
Family members called the paramedics who after checking declared him dead.
According to police, Mishra told his family members that he could not perform as per his expectation in two subjects. “He was good at studies but feared poor marks in two subjects,” said police, adding that his exams were still on.
Mishra's father is technician in a factory unit while his elder brother is working in the US.
