Kanpur: With the arrest of five persons, police busted an illicit
liquor factory in operating in the Bidhnoo area of the district on Tuesday night.
Police also seized 46 cartons of illicit liquor, 22 drums of chemical, packing machines and empty liquor bottles from the spot. Police identified the arrested persons as Jahan Singh, Maan Singh, Brijpal Singh, Pradeep Verma and Mohit Singh, residents of separate areas of the district.
According to police sources, the liquor had to be supplied in rural pockets of the district. An FIR has been filed and investigation is on.
Apolice team from Bidhnoo police station raided the spot in Dahli Ujagar village in Bidhnoo on Tuesday night and nabbed five people involved in manufacturing illegal liquor, police source said .
Inspector Bidhnoo said, there were inputs about an illegal liquor factory in Dahli Ujagar villagesince long.
SP (rural) Pradyumna Singh said, "Forty-six cartons of liquor, raw material, packaging machines besides empty bottles were recovered from the spot. Labels of several prominent brands were also recovered." A case has been registered and all arrested accused were sent to jail, SP added.
