Rain to continue for two more days in Bihar: Met

PATNA: Light to moderate rainfall with hailstorm and gusty winds in Patna and some other parts of the state brought down mercury by a few notches on Tuesday. Thick cloud overshadowed the state capital throughout the day.
Patna received 13.5mm of rainfall till 5pm on Tuesday, Banka 44.6mm, Dehri 15.2mm, Jehanabad 14.4mm, Jamui 12.8mm and Biharsharif and Gaya 12.6mm each.
Minimum temperature in Patna was recorded at 18.3 degrees Celsius and maximum at 23.4 degrees Celsius. The chill in air was augmented by northeasterly winds due to western disturbance, which lies over south Bihar and extending up to 1.5km above the mean sea level.
According to daily bulletin issued by Patna Meteorological Centre, widespread rainfall was witnessed in several parts of the state on Tuesday. “The system will continue for next two days,” it said.
The Skymet bulletin stated that light to moderate rain may occur in parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal during the next 24 hours.
