MUMBAI: The
BJP launched a frontal attack on CM
Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday, saying he ran away from the assembly when they raised the issue of farm loan waiver.
BJP on Tuesday held a statewide agitation at 355 places against the government’s “failure” to compensate farmers for crop loss and rising incidents of crime against women. Addressing the rally at
Azad Maidan, party state unit chief
Chandrakant Patil said when they raised the issue in the assembly, Thackeray “ran away” within 10 minutes. “He did not respond to the issue. When we started chanting Mukhyamantri palale (The CM has run away) he was annoyed, went to his cabin and did not return,” Patil said.
Criticising Thackeray, Patil said he comes to Mantralaya at 2pm and leaves at 5pm. “He works even less than Mantralaya employees,” he said. In a word of advice to the CM, Patil said, “Don’t listen to Sharad Pawar, one can’t even understand what he (Pawar) speaks. Only Uddhav understands as that is in his interest.” Patil added, “There were no riots in five years, conviction rate had increased. Now there is no fear of law.” Ex-CM
Devendra Fadnavis said the agitations would continue for a month.
