It's great new for chip lovers across Australia as Red Rooster announces it will hand out free fries all day on Saturday. 

To celebrate the extra day in the leap year which only comes around every four years, the fast food giant is giving away a medium-sized serving of free chips to every customer who comes through the doors on February 29. 

Red Rooster is keen to spread the word about the celebration being hailed as #LeapDayChipDay, saying it was a opportunity to thank their loyal customers.

The free chips offer is only available on Saturday February 29, which coincides with the last day of summer.
