SURAT: City student Mayuri Jain secured 24th rank in company secretary executive programme of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), the results of which were announced along with that of its professional programme on Tuesday. These examinations were conducted by the ICSI in December 2019.
Mayuri, daughter of a Goods and Services Tax officer, is currently in fourth year of five-year integrated LLB course at Veer Narmad South Gujarat University. She is interested in working in corporate sector and hence chose a combination of law and company secretary courses to make her career.
"I used to attend classes regularly and also spent five hours daily on my studies. This has helped me to perform well in the examinations," Mayuri said.
She scored 482 marks out of 800 in the examinations. Jain expected good marks but never expected to be among top 25 in the country.
"One has to be consistent in studies and should regularly revise whatever has been taught in the classes. This will help anyone to perform well during the examinations," she added.
Many students in the Diamond City pursue chartered accountancy and company secretary courses together. "Those doing CA find CS comparatively easy. A lot of students study CS for better career options," said a tutor from the city.
