Thiruvananthapuram: The cabinet on Tuesday brought about a minor
bureaucratic reshuffle.
Rural development commissioner N Padmakumar has been given the additional charge of special secretary (industries-coir). He would continue to the hold the charge of rural development commissioner as well.
The government appointed secretary (personnel and administrative reforms) Gopalakrishna Bhat as secretary (industries-cashew). He will continue to hold the other charges.
Director (fisheries) S Venkitesapathy has been given the additional charge of joint managing director of Kerala Water Authority. At present, secretary (water resources) B Ashok is holding the additional charge of managing director of KWA, after former managing director A Kowsigan was transferred from the post.
The cabinet on Tuesday posted incumbent director of sports and youth affairs Geromic George as the chief executive officer of Kerala Maritime Board. Deputy secretary (general administration department) Renu Raj will now hold the additional charge of director of sports and youth affairs.

The cabinet decided to provide a financial relief of Rs 3.22 lakh from the chief minister’s distress relief fund to a family in Kollam who are victims of an accident in which a drinking water storage tank fell on a house and a child was killed. The mother of the child had suffered serious injuries in the accident. tnn
