Violence continued to engulf northeast Delhi for the third day straight on 25 February 2020 even as US President Donald Trump continued his visit to the national capital with Prime Minister Narendra Modi

A mosque was burnt down in Ashok Nagar, the death toll stands at 17 as of Wednesday morning, 26 February 2020 and includes a policeman. At least four journalists were attacked by mobs as they tried to cover proceedings on the ground and one was shot. 

Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal attracted public anger for tweeting about his administration’s happiness classes while his city was rioting, the Delhi Police declared it did not have the manpower to immediately tackle the violence while the Home Ministry said there was no need to call in the army.
