Dream City’s corporate office to embrace green

Surat: The development of prestigious Diamond Research and Mercantile (DREAM) City at Khajod has been put on the fast track with the approval for the construction of the corporate office at the cost of Rs 27.75 crore
The DREAM City Pvt Ltd, a special purpose vehicle formed by the state government, is taking up the construction of the six-storey corporate office and iconic entry gate.
“The SPV has approved the construction of a six-storey corporate office for the staff and board members at the cost of Rs 27.75 crore. In addition, we are also constructing an iconic entry gate at the cost of Rs six crore. Dream City is close to the airport as well as proposed metro train station. This is a big ticket project for the city and it will turn out as an international bustling business hub soon,’’ Banchhanidhi Pani, managing director, Dream City, told TOI.
The corporate office will come up on the 3,250 sq m land located opposite the Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB), world’s largest diamond bourse, which is under construction at the DREAM City.
The corporate office will be developed on the green concept covering the construction area of 12,775 square feet.
The iconic entry gate will be 60 m wide and 15 m tall. The office will have all facilities including elevators for the visitors, sky-deck at the height of 25 foot with facilities of viewing area, food court, telescope point, sitting area and a dedicated area for exhibiting the heritage of the city, facilities for those with disabilities and digital checking facilities for the vehicles entering.
The entry gate will be based on the round-shape diamond design and that the skydeck will be designed in the shape of a diamond ring.
Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB) is coming up on the 35 acres of land at the cost of Rs 2,500 crore. A project envisaged by the diamond barons, SDB is going to be the second diamond bourse after the Bharat Diamond Bourse (SDB) in Mumbai. The booking of the offices is already completed and majority of the diamantaires from Mumbai, Surat and Antwerp have booked their office space at the SDB.
