AXIS 2020 set to showcase arms, models

Nagpur: AXIS 2020, the annual technical festival of Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) to be held from February 28 to March 1, will witness a variety of exhibits of arms, ammunition, models of aircraft, aeroplanes, ships and submarines.
Vinita Paunikar, vice-president of Oracle America will be one of the speakers at the inaugural evening along with other experts under Innovision Series and The Industry 4.0 Summit.
Students of VNIT will hold exhibitions, guest lectures, events and workshops to impart technical expertise and provide a national platform to attract and nurture talent in the field of science and technology.
This year, exhibits include arms and ammunition used by the Indian Army, models of aircraft and aeroplanes piloted by Indian Air Force, and models of ships and submarines operated by the Indian Navy.
An ISRO space exhibition, in association with NRSC and INDRO 3.0, an autonomous humanoid robot designed for real-time human-computer interaction, will also be on display. There will also be exhibits by Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (Barc), defence hardware and equipment by Ordnance Factory, RC aircraft by DREAM Innovators, and one based on virtual and augmented reality by GlobalLogic.
