Chandigarh: Jewel thief strikes at Sector 30 house

CHANDIGARH: A miscreant broke into a house of account manager of a factory in Sector 30 and decamped with gold jewellery, a mobile phone, laptop and Rs 6,000 cash. Industrial Area Phase-1 police have registered a case against an unidentified person and started a probe.
In his complaint, Rajiv Chaudhary, a resident of Sector 30, said some miscreant entered the room on the first floor of house by breaking the locks of door and fled with items. He was sleeping with his family on the ground floor of his house, when the incident occurred.
He said his son first noticed the crime when he went upstairs to study. Choudhary informed the police about the incident at ‘112’ helpline. Cops from Industrial Area Phase-1 police station reached the spot and recorded his statement.
Police have been scrutinising CCTV footage of nearby areas to identify the accused.
