13-yr-old raped by her neighbour

Ludhiana: The police have booked a labourer for kidnapping his minor neighbour and raping her in the wee hours of Friday. At the time of incident, parents of the 13-year-old had gone to their native place after leaving girl with her aunty, who also lives in same locality.
On Saturday, when the parents returned home, the girl informed them about the incident, following which a police complaint was lodged.
In her statement to the police, mother said the girl told them that the accused came to the room, kidnapped her, took her to a vacant plot and raped her. The accused also threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone.
Sub-inspector Madhu Bala said a case under sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC and section 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act has been registered against the accused, who is a labourer. A hunt is on for his arrest.
