JAIPUR: Over
53,000 ASHA workers will be given android phones for the
digital health survey (DHS) to be conducted across the state.
The health department is promoting use of digital technology for conducting its one of the biggest health surveys.
For the purpose, training of ASHA workers has been started in different districts. “Under
Nirogi Rajasthan, 53,000 ASHA workers deployed in different parts of the state will conduct door-to-door survey for DHS,” said Rohit Kumar Singh, additional chief secretary, health department.
Training has been started in Jodhpur and other parts of the state. Since the survey will be done digitally, the training will be important, said a health department official.
These workers will go door-to-door to collect details of the family members and about their health, which include name of the patient, disease, for how long the patient has been taking the treatment, who is providing the treatment are some of the points in the survey, which is likely to be launched in the state from April.
According to the health department officials, the digital health survey will help the state government formulate health policies and better treatment facilities to the patients. The health department will also be able to know the actual burden of diseases in the state such as hypertension, diabetes, cancer, tuberculosis. Also, it will be able to gauge the actual burden of diseases related to heart, liver, and kidney.
