JAIPUR:
Hailstorm and
rainfall were recorded in some parts of eastern
Rajasthan on Sunday which brought the mercury down.
Met officials, however, said the weather will be mainly clear sky in most parts of the state from Monday with no possibility of rainfall or squall. Sikar remained the coldest in the state with 9.5 ℃.
Attributing the climatic change, especially the cloudy conditions in some parts of the state, to active upper air cyclonic circulation and western disturbances, Jaipur Met office said majority of the places in the state would witness dry weather except some parts in the eastern Rajasthan where there is a possibility of rainfall, squall and hail storm in the next couple of days.
People in Jaipur woke up amidst cloudy conditions, though no rainfall was recorded. There was, however, some rain on the outskirts including Shahpura, Bassi and Kothputli. Jaipur recorded a minimum temperature of 15.6℃, almost 3°C above normal. It was followed by a comparatively chilly afternoon with a maximum temperature of 24.5 ℃. Mild fog and mist was witnessed on the highways near Jaipur which affected road traffic on Jaipur-Delhi, Jaipur-Agra and Jaipur-Bikaner.
Hailstorm and rainfall was also recorded at some of the districts including Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur and Sawai Madhopur districts.
Sikar was followed by Pilani where a minimum temperature of 12.1 ℃ was recorded, Churu 12.8, Sriganganagar 13.2, Kota 13.8, Phalodi 14.2, Jaisalmer 14.3 and Jodhpur and Ajmer 15℃ each.
In its forecast, Jaipur Met office said weather would mainly remain dry in the state except some parts in the eastern Rajasthan in the next 24 hours.
