Damning confidential report reveals 'life-endangering' failings in vascular care, say critics

A critical report into a vital service for kidney dialysis patients reveals that many have no confidence a health board can deliver “safe or timely” treatment after its centralisation by a health board. Vascular services were centralised from Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan in April 2019. Before the move, patients raised concerns about travel time, emergency cover for staff and a lack of detailed plans during a series of public consultations.
