THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The
National Investigation Agency,
Military Intelligence and Anti-Terrorism Squad sleuths reached Kollam on Sunday for a preliminary probe after 14 live
cartridges were found abandoned at
Muppathadi on the Thiruvananthapuram-Chenkotta interstate road.
The Military Intelligence team examined the cartridges and confirmed that they were made in Pakistan. The cartridges, they said, were brought here and left in the open place recently. The primary assumption of the investigators is that the cartridges are made in
Pakistan Ordnance Factories, as suggested from markings. Police said the cartridges were made in 1981-82 and could be used in modern long-range weapons.
Top cops said all possibilities are being probed.
