Haryana: Thieves take away ATM in Kurukshetra's Pehowa

KURUKSHETRA: In yet another case of ATM robbery, some thieves have uprooted the State Bank of India (SBI) cash machine near Pehowa police post in Kurukshetra district at around 1.55am on Monday.
It could not be ascertained that how much cash was there in the ATM as SBI officials have not given any statement as of now, said inspector Devender Kumar, station house officer (SHO), Pehowa police station.

"We have initiated an investigation," added SHO Devender.
"Some thieves firstly recced this ATM during the late hours and then they turned away the face of one CCTV camera. The robbers disconnected the wires of second CCTV camera before committing the robbery. As the ATM was installed without any concrete foundation, they easily fled with it," said Pehowa DSP Dheeraj Kumar.
"They fled with the machinein a car via National Highway 65, where they did not pay at the toll plaza," police sources added.
It is notable that this is the second ATM robbery in the last two days in the region.
Seven robbers uprooted a ATM outside Central Bank of India's Saha town branch in Ambala district around 1.55am on Saturday.
