Two rowdies murder friend over illicit affairs, arrested

VILLUPURAM: Police on Monday arrested two rowdies at Villupuram in Tamil Nadu for murdering their friend over illicit relationships involving the wives of two of them, including the murdered man’s wife.
The deceased has been identified as Raja alias Kajah, 34, of Salamedu. The Villupuram taluk police arrested his friends Lali Karthick alias Saravanan, 25, of Ganapathi Nagar and Porul alias Vinoth Kumar of Melvanniyar Street.
The police recovered the body of Raja form the house of Karthick on Sunday after neighbours complained of a foul smell.
Raja, Karthick and Vinoth were accused in a murder case. They were remanded in judicial custody in 2015. After getting bail in 2018, they indulged in crimes like pickpocketing.
The police said Raja had developed an illicit relationship with Karthick’s wife. Similarly, Vinoth developed an illicit relationship with Raja’s wife.
Karthick and Vinoth decided to eliminate Raja. They invited Raja to Karthick’s house for a drink on Saturday night. Karthick’s wife was in her parents’ home. When he was drunk, the duo hacked Raja to death with a machete.
Four special teams were formed to nab the accused. The police nabbed the duo during a vehicle check at Janakipuram in Villupuram town on Monday.
The police said based on their confession, the duo were arrested.
