'After doing something like that, how could you call yourself a human being?,' Holly said in the statement, as reported by The Herald Sun.

'I hope you suffer and get what's coming to you. My mother deserves justice,' she said.

Her sister Mia said the discovery of her mother's body still haunts her.

'The trauma, the grief will never leave me. My mother never deserved this,' Mia said.

Holly said she still has terrible nightmares about what happened to her mother.

The now 17-year-old remembered her mother as a 'beautiful woman' and said it was unfair she has to live without her for the rest of her life.

Holly slammed Murdoch in court, saying 'I hope you suffer and get what's coming to you. My mother deserves justice.'

Ms Blackwood is survived by her two daughters, her son Chase, and her husband Peter.

Murdoch is also awaiting sentencing over another attack on Illona Prohaska, 80, in her Endeavour Hills house three months earlier on May 21, 2013.

Though he plunged a knife into her neck she remarkably survived the attack.

Ms Prohaska told the court that her son, Johnny, died from kidney failure brought about by stress after the police labelled him a suspect.

She said she wished her son was at court to see his name cleared.
