Thousands of students faced with denial of admit cards by Haryana Board, to agitate on March 1
All this came to light on Sunday when Federation of Private Schools Management Association announced to Ghereo the Board premises of Bhiwani on March 1 in case Board did not release the admit cards.
Representational Image CHANDIGARH: More than two lakh students of class X and XII of private schools of Haryana are faced with threat of being denied admit cards by the Board of School Education of Haryana. Managements of Private schools term this as an outcome of Board's way of arm twisting exercise with the Private Schools.
It is alleged that the current development has also seriously impacted the practical examinations of the aggrieved students. In the absence of admit cards or enrollment number, most of the students are at the mercy of board. Practical exams were held on Friday and Saturday. Finals are to start from March 3.
All this came to light on Sunday when Federation of Private Schools Management Association announced to Ghereo the Board premises of Bhiwani on March 1 in case Board did not release the admit cards. Federation President Kulbhushan Sharma and Secretary Ram Avtar said that students as well their parents will join the day long agitation in Bhiwani on March 1.
"This shows a dictatorial attitude of Board and its chairman and secretary. And this is an outcome of objection by Private school who had opposed the system adopted by Board in allotment of examination centres to private schools," said Kulbhushan Sharma.
They will have to stop these coerce methods. In any case they cannot deny admit cards to students, hence this calls for a legal remedy as well, added Sharma.
According to Sharma, the current development has roots in last year's examination duty issue of private teachers. As teachers of private schools did not give duties, the Board had slapped a fine of Rs 5000 each on the school.
Elaborating more Ram Avtar narrated as to how first the chairman waived off the fine and later imposed the fine and blocked the IDs of 901 private schools of Haryana.
"All this happened when schools were allotted the examination centers for their students. We were shocked to find that the students of government schools were given the centre in the school in the same village. Whereas students of private schools of same village are given centres which are 25 to 30 kilometers away from their villages. We raised this issue with Board chairman and Secretary. They not only ignored us but also withdraw the decision where waiver of fine was made," said Ram Avtar.
This showed arrogance of Board Chairman. In fact board is catalyst for conducting the examinations and to facilitate the students. Rules to government the board are framed by department. But, here, Board is running its parallel government, he added.
